Our Story
Joe Picasso's has been a creative home for South Florida since 1999, making art fun and accessible for everyone who walks through our doors.

From Las Olas to Wilton Manors
Joe Picasso's first opened in 1999 on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, back when paint-your-own pottery was still a brand-new concept in South Florida. From day one, the studio was built around one idea: art should be fun, social, and open to everyone.
Over 25 years later, that hasn't changed. We've expanded the menu of activities, moved to a lovely space in Wilton Manors, and welcomed tens of thousands of visitors through our doors, but the heart of the experience is still the same.
Whether you're on a date, celebrating with friends, spending an afternoon with the kids, or just looking for something creative to do on your own, you're welcome here.
An Interactive Artistic Experience
Joe Picasso's is an interactive studio where you are the artist. Enjoy pottery painting, clay hand-building, canvas painting, glass painting, making your own pottery on the wheel, and creating your own mosaic masterpiece. You can have fun, enjoy, and create.
We welcome walk-in painters of all ages and abilities — no reservation needed for most activities. Just come in during open studio hours and start creating! Or come in for a class with Katie, host an event, or plan a party with us!

Kids Need Art!
Involvement in the arts is associated with gains in math, reading, cognitive ability, critical thinking, and verbal skill. Arts learning can also improve motivation, concentration, confidence, and teamwork.
Joe Picasso's Art Camps can be an important part of your child's creative development! Our camps are filled with fun and activities that stimulate imaginations while teaching skills and principles that can last a lifetime.
Every week is structured around a different theme through projects, games, and activities. Kids love it!

Over the Years
1999
Las Olas Boulevard
Joe Picasso's opens its doors on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, one of the first paint-your-own pottery studios in South Florida. This location was Katie's first job after high school. By the time the studio moved, she was the kiln manager and taught the potter's wheel lessons.
2008
Federal Highway
The studio relocated from Las Olas to Federal Highway, where it thrived next to Sweeter Days, one of our favorite spots for cupcakes. Katie took over this location in 2019, coming back to the industry and artform she loved.
2021
Wilton Manors
The studio moves to its current home at 1600 NE 26th Street in Wilton Manors, with a lovely location and expanded offerings. Joining the other wonderful, women-owned shops in our charming plaza, Joe's continued its creative purpose.
