Summer Camp Sign Up is open! Join us for a fun filled, themed weeks of artistic creation.

Each week of Joe Picasso’s Summer Art Camp will include fun projects like canvas and pottery painting, making mosaics, sculpting with clay, paper crafting, and glass painting projects! In addition to those projects each week has a theme that will include lots of creative games and art activities designed to let your child expand their imagination and learn fun new artistic skills!

Need to know:

- Please provide water, lunch and two snacks for your camper. 

- Campers must wear closed toed shoes. Sneakers are preferred.

- Masks must be worn at all times (except lunch) when campers will be seated in such a way that they observe social distancing.

- Campers age 8-14 are welcome.

CAMP HOURS: 9am-3pm

Drop off starts at 8:45am

Pickup ends at 3:15pm

  • A late fee of $10 per 15 minutes will be charged for pickups later than 3:15pm.
  • Prepaid after care is available until 5pm. (Price: $50/week per camper).

Week 1 - June 14th-18th Summer Sunshine (CLAY WEEK): Wheel throwing, hand building, slab rolling with clay...all focused around sunny summer day themes.  Campers will learn about about the way to use light and shadow in art through a variety of mediums, including clay, glass, wood, paper, and canvas. This week includes a wheel lesson where each camper will be able to create their own small cup or bowl.

Week 2 - June 21st-25th Gnomes and Fairies: This week, we will travel into the magical world of make-believe characters like gnomes and fairies. Using different mediums, like clay, canvas, glass, mosaic, string art, and more to create our own whimsical creatures. Campers will practice detail painting and sculpting techniques, as well as learning about positive & negative space, and silhouettes. We will work on blending techniques and learning which types of brushes work best for different effects.

Week 3 - June 28th-July 2nd Beach Daze: Sea and sand inspired projects will transport campers to the shore! We will be using clay, canvas, mosaic, wood, glass and more to portray our favorite beach memories. Campers will use mixed media techniques to create 2D and 3D masterpieces.

Week 4 - July 5th-9th Americana & Native American Art (Pottery Week): Wheel throwing, clay hand-building, slab rolling: this week will focus on clay as a medium to create projects inspired by different art forms from Native American Art and Americana. We will use wood, glass, leather, string, beads, and more, to create unique masterpieces celebrating the art and cultures of North America. Campers will get to use the potter's wheel for a lesson in making their own small cup or bowl.

Week 5 - July 12th-16th Artists of the Galaxy: Take a trip around the Milky Way with us as we explore space through art mediums like clay, canvas, glass, slime, wood, and paper. This week's theme focuses on everything out of this world. Focus techniques will be abstract art brushstrokes and using tools other than brushes to paint. We will boldly paint where no artists have painted before!

Week 6 - July 19th-23rd The Great Outdoors: This week's camp is all about the great outdoors! Animals and nature will provide inspiration for projects using clay, canvas, mosaic, glass, and wood. We will also focus on painting different brushstrokes to achieve different effects. Happy little trees and fun clay creatures, as well as mini terrariums and string art. This week has a whole lot of outside packed inside!

Week 7 - July 26th-30th Aloha Luau (Pottery Week)!: Wheel throwing, hand building, slab rolling with clay...all with a Hawaiian vibe!  Campers will spend this week at our very own Joe's Luau! Creating art with a variety of mediums, including clay, glass, wood, paper, and canvas. We will make string and paper leis, learn how to blend different types of paints to achieve OMBRE fades, and experiment with colors galore! This week includes a wheel lesson where each camper will be able to create their own small cup or bowl.

Week 8 - August 2nd-6th The Artist in Me: Campers will explore different types of art mediums and techniques to find their favorite one. This week allows campers to personalize their masterpieces, using their favorite colors, themes, characters, or music to inspire their art! We will make monogram glasses, clay sculptures, inspirational canvases, and other personalized projects for campers to use throughout the year.
